Lisk was developed as an open-source blockchain project seeking to solve a problem for many developers today: having to learn a new programming language to create apps for each distinct blockchain. Lisk promises accessibility, and the platform’s ecosystem offers individuals the opportunity to take advantage of blockchain technology through a robust community, developer tools, and cryptocurrency wallets.

What is Lisk (LSK)?
Lisk also uses sidechains to build their apps to protect the main network from slowing down. These side chains communicate with the master chain using smart contracts. Each of these side chains also operates on a separate consensus mechanism to free up processing power on the main chain.

About Lisk (LSK)
The Lisk Token, LSK, is the currency of the Lisk network. LSK operates on Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus protocol to forge their tokens. In essence, LSK holders vote for the individuals they want validating blocks on the blockchain. The more LSK an individual owns, the more their vote weighs. Those with the most votes become delegates. LSK is used to pay representatives who then validate blocks. At any given time, there are 101 delegates. These individuals can be replaced at any point if they aren’t performing well.
All of the tools that Lisk provides are designed to bring accessibility to the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain and to encourage mass adoption through an easy to understand gateway with clear benefits.
